Finished one of a three hat order.

This is the smallest one. It is made to fit a 5 year old. Since I did not have a child's pattern, I just took my needle size down and adjusted the body of the hat a bit after I knit the lace portion.
The other two will be from this color. Both are adult size. One for an older daughter and one for the mother. She requested brick red. This was the closest I could come. This hat looks scrunched up because I have it on small circular needles. It is about 1/2 completed. The lace pattern is finished and I am knitting the body. These are made of Malabrigo 100% Merino washable wool from Peru. Retail price is $50.00 plus shipping. If you are interested, you can contact me through e-mail or leave a comment here.

It has been so long since I have posted here.

But that does not mean I have not been busy.  Below are three of the twelve hats I knit last week using scraps of yarn.  I call them my Scrap Happy Hats. The pattern just came from my head as I knit. They are all made from 100% wool and will be selling for $20.00

Note to readers/viewers, the hats only are for sale

Summer knitting

Stan and I drove to and around Alaska this Summer. I knit most of this sweater as we drove.

Close up of the yoke detail.  This is from a very old pattern I have.  I do enjoy making it. The directions include sizes from infant to adult. I used Malabringo Sock weight yarn for this project.  It is machine washable and dryable.  I, however, would recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry.

I have made this dress before.  A favorite pattern.  Quick to make as it is made from worsted weight yarn. This yarn is hand washable.  Lay flat to dry.

Close up of the yoke and sweet buttons I found for the dress.

A picture I received

This week of my dear friend Pastor Mwenebolongo's son Memba on the back row left. Beside him is his wife Eliza and in front, in the blue striped blouse their daughter Jeanine.  Memba will be ordained into the ministry soon.  He  is currently leading a Swahili Church here in the U.S. One time he told me his most prized possession is the Bible his dear father gave him as he left Africa for the U.S. Some day, I will meet this family:)

FINISHED!!!

A month!  Partly because I did not like the pattern once I started it.  Had to work  out some kinks.  It is not an  American printed pattern so there were some terms that were not familiar.  I also reworked the bodice. It was suppose to be worked in garter stitch and I really do not like large amounts of garter stitch.  It is fine for definition.  I used it along the armbands and to separate the skirt from the bodice.

Close up of the stitch detail on the skirt.
Knit with Dale of Norway Baby Ull 100% washable wool.
