I love this pattern.  It is called Something Beautiful.
For some reason, the colors did not come out as vibrant as they really are.
The shrug is a very bright orange.

This one is not for Tanzania,

It is for my niece's first baby, who is due in a few weeks.
I like to give gifts that are a little larger since they always seem to receive so many cute tiny outfits. This should fit Baby Olive by late summer and early fall.
Making this dress has convinced me that I do need a new sewing machine.  I have always enjoyed sewing, but it seems lately that I fight with my machine more than I am able to sew successfully.  Especially in the button hole department.  This dress does not have button holes yet.  I tried to make them, but I pulled out three because they did not please me.  I cannot see putting all of the work into something and have it ruined by poor quality buttonholes.
The sweater is made of one of my favorite yarns.  Cascade 220.  It is hand washable 100% wool.
The dress is dark pink background with light pink polka dots with lime green polka dots inside the light pink dots.  It is the same fabric I used to make the little pants below.  I am hoping Baby Olive gets lots of use from them.
